Ian is a Not for Profit specialist partner with over 25 years’ experience of working with charities and membership bodies. He joined the firm in June 2015 and leads the firm's Not for Profit team.
Ian qualified with Littlejohn Frazer before moving into the charity sector to work as a financial accountant. He then joined PKF (UK) LLP’s not for profit team for 14 years, which he headed from 2010 to 2013, fulfilling the same role at BDO after the firms merged.
Ian specialises in audit and advisory work and has a specific interest in advising charitable and non-charitable membership bodies, with national and international operations. He has a wide grasp of the many issues and challenges facing the charity sector and is passionate about ensuring his clients receive practical and pragmatic advice to help them flourish. He also does a lot of trustee training to help demystify the financial aspects of good governance and ensure trustees have a practical overview of their roles and responsibilities.
Ian sat as an independent Audit Committee member of FARM Africa, an international INGO for 7 years.
Ian is a member of the Leadership team of PKF Littlejohn which sets the strategy and oversees the day to day management of the firm.
