PKF Africa Gathering 2026

In brief:

  • PKF Global’s Africa Gathering 2026 in Johannesburg brought together 115 delegates from across Africa and beyond to collaborate, share insights and explore growth opportunities.
  • The programme featured inspiring keynote perspectives on leadership and innovation, alongside practical sessions on leveraging the PKF network to deliver client-focused solutions.
  • Delegates experienced unique moments including a visit to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, reinforcing shared values of transparency, trust and strong governance.
  • The event also strengthened relationships with key organisations such as SAICA and PAFA, supporting the advancement of the accounting profession across Africa.
  • Fundraising efforts contributed to community impact initiatives in Zambia, reflecting PKF’s ongoing commitment to making a positive difference.

We were thrilled to welcome 115 friends and colleagues to Johannesburg, South Africa from 25 to 27 March 2026 for our annual Africa Gathering. Our event brought members together from across Africa and beyond to collaborate, strengthen connections and unlock new opportunities for growth on the continent.

Inspiring leaders across borders

Guest speaker Miles Kubheka, author and independent entrepreneur, delivered an inspirational keynote, sharing his journey as a changemaker in South Africa and revealing how he transformed many of his dreams into reality. Miles spoke with passion and energy and reminded us that real progress starts with visionary leadership and a clear belief in what is possible. Delegates were encouraged to be ambitious, embrace innovation and contribute to Africa’s success.

Delivering excellence for clients

Another standout session, ‘Making the network work for clients’, saw PKF Global CEO Theo Vermaak, PKF Arsilon CEO Franck Gledel and PKF Littlejohn director Andrew Dawson explore how PKF member firms can turn our network into a real competitive advantage. By connecting teams across borders, bringing specialised sector insights and delivering innovative, client-centric solutions, we are well placed to support multinational clients deal with complex, fast-moving challenges.

Breakfast at the JSE

Delegates had the opportunity to enjoy breakfast at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) and witness the market opening first-hand, a truly special experience for all who attended. The beat of traditional African drums created a powerful sense of anticipation before PKF Global Chairman Christos Antoniou blew the kudu horn to officially open the trading day.

We were honoured to visit this historic setting and stand alongside the JSE, united in our aim to support African businesses as they grow. As PKF Global CEO Theo Vermaak said, ‘The JSE emphasises a platform that is well regulated, transparent and trusted, equipping investors with the information they need to make informed decisions. That mission aligns closely with ours: helping organisations build confidence in their reporting, strengthen governance and meet the expectations of stakeholders, locally and globally.’

Deepening connections with SAICA and PAFA

It was a pleasure to meet with representatives from the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) during our gathering. We exchanged perspectives on the evolving role of the accounting profession across Africa and reaffirmed our shared focus on upholding and advancing quality.

Be the change

Like last year, all fundraising from our 2026 global events is being directed to community impact work in Zambia, led by Antony Ranjan and his team at PKF Zambia. We’re proud to be supporting the Grace Centre, which offers education, skills training and microfinance to vulnerable girls and young women. We raised $2,000 at our Africa Gathering – thank you to our members for your commitment to this cause and empowering us to make a difference.

Thank you

We’re very grateful to everyone at PKF Octagon and PKF South Africa for welcoming us so warmly to Johannesburg. Thanks also to our members, colleagues, speakers and event partners (HSA Global, Caseware Africa and Xero) who joined us and made our event such a success.

Event feedback

Reflecting on the gathering, PKF South Africa COO Angie da Silva said, ‘There is something special about our network. It is authentic, human and bold – what a privilege it is to be a part of the PKF family.’

Papa Bathie Gueye, Managing Partner at our Senegalese member firm PKF Rubiks, said ‘We bring a network of African experts into every assignment we deliver for our clients, creating a seamless experience across countries and jurisdictions. Gatherings like this are what keep us aligned and in sync. Let’s go PKF, let’s go Africa!’
